No doubt many of you will have listened to the Prime Minister’s update this evening which has announced that there are 4 cases of COVID-19 in Auckland from an unknown source. As a result, Auckland is moving to Level 3 as of midday tomorrow for 3 days and the rest of New Zealand is moving to Alert Level 2.
This means that for Aucklanders (Wellsford to Pukekohe)
Physical distancing of 2m again comes into effect
Gatherings of more than 10 people are again restricted in Auckland
Travelling into Auckland is not allowed unless you live there and are going home
Everyone, except for essential workers, should work from home
All schools and childcare centres will be closed from tomorrow morning, and
Police roadblocks coming into Auckland will be in place from midday tomorrow
Please re-fresh yourself with the Level 3 guidelines to ensure you are up to date with what real estate activity can occur at Level 3. Please note, that it is likely that the wearing of masks will be compulsory at Level 3, but we are awaiting on the updated guidance from the Government to this effect and will communicate this advice once we have it available.
For those outside Auckland, and who are moving to Alert Level 2 from midday tomorrow, please read the Level 2 guidelines. In Level 2, masks are likely to be optional but encouraged where people are unable to practice appropriate physical distancing requirement –an open home or packed auction room could be a good example of this. Again, we are awaiting on the updated guidance from the Government to this effect and will communicate this advice once we have it available.
